Trunk Contest Categories
Community Spirit – The trunk that best embodies local flair, kindness, and hospitality, where the joy of our community shines through. This award celebrates the creativity and warmth that make our area unique... bringing neighbors together, highlighting what we share, and reminding us why it’s special to belong here.
Kids’ Choice – Awarded to the trunk that captures the hearts of our youngest visitors! This category celebrates the design, theme, or experience that kids themselves find the most fun, exciting, and memorable, and the winner will be chosen in part by votes from the children attending the event.
Creativity – Celebrates the trunk that shows the most originality and imagination, using unique themes, clever details, and outside‑the‑box ideas to create a fun and memorable experience for families.
Sharing Jesus – Recognizes the trunk that most clearly and creatively communicates the message of Jesus’ love and hope. This category celebrates displays that use decorations, themes, and interactions to point families toward the Good News in a welcoming and age‑appropriate way.
Best in Show – The top honor of the event, awarded to the trunk that stands out above all others by combining creativity, visual impact, theme execution, and overall wow‑factor into one unforgettable experience.

🍬 Candy & Giveaways
Candy – Please plan enough candy for at least 200 children.
Individually Wrapped Candy Only – No homemade treats.
Non‑Candy Giveaways – Small toys, stickers, or family‑friendly promotional materials are welcome.
Fair Distribution – Pace candy and goodies so all children, even late arrivals, receive something.
🎨 Decorations & Setup
Family‑Friendly Themes – No gore, horror, or disturbing content.
Arrival & Setup – Vehicles must arrive at 5:00pm and be decorated by 5:45pm.
No Vehicle Movement – Once parked, vehicles must remain until the event ends at 8:00pm.
Decorations Safety – No open flames; secure items to prevent hazards.
No Open Flames – Use battery‑operated candles, lanterns, or LED lights instead of real candles or tiki torches.
Power Use – Participants must provide their own power sources (such as battery packs, portable power stations, or small, quiet generators and must be low‑noise and placed safely away from children and walkways.)
Space Limits – Each trunk is allotted one parking space.
🛑 Safety & Conduct
Emergency Access – Fire lanes must remain clear.
Adult Supervision – At least one adult must remain with each trunk.
Costumes – Must be family‑friendly (no gore, frightening masks, or adult themes).
Respectful Interaction – Participants should be welcoming, kind, and encouraging.
No Pets (except service animals) – While we love animals, pets can create safety concerns in a busy event setting. Even the calmest pets may become startled by costumes, loud noises, or large crowds of children.
No Smoking, Alcohol, or Drugs – School grounds are smoke‑free and alcohol‑free.
No Weapons or Weapon‑Like Props – Even toy swords or guns should be avoided.
Respect Boundaries – No physical contact with children beyond high‑fives or fist bumps.
Positive Atmosphere – No controversial or divisive messages.
Emergency Contact – Each trunk leader should provide a cell number on the signup form for quick communication the night of the event.
🧹 Clean‑Up & Courtesy
Clean‑Up Required – Participants must remove decorations and trash before leaving.
Respect the Venue – No tape, paint, or adhesives that could damage school property.
Leftover Candy & Materials – Please take extras home; do not leave them on school grounds.
